SOFTENING

Softening is the process of removal of hardness ions(Ca 2+ and Mg 2+) from water. Hardness ions is a great problem at most industries, pipe lines, machinery etc.

Ion exchange is generally used for softening at worlwide. The resin used is strong acidic cation exchange resin at Na Form.

If the water has high hardness level or the capacity is great then counter current regeneration is applied in order to decrease salt level and eliminate the hardness leakage.
